3 Ways to Try the Flower Crown Trend Without Looking Too Out-There

Dare I say that spring is (almost) (maybe) in the air? I feel like I can’t survive this winter much longer. Part of what’s been helping me through is my “flowerheads” board on Pinterest–I just can’t seem to get enough of the flower crown trend. Of course, actually wearing a flower crown–like the above one from Ban.Do–is another story entirely. How does one do this (outside the context of a wedding or music festival) without feeling a bit silly? Here are a few ways I think you can get the flower-crown vibe in a more foolproof way.
1. Swap big blossoms for tiny flower charms. This is a more grown-up version of all those super-girly flower headbands that have been in stores forever. Candy Flower Headband, $16 at Urban Outfitters
2. Wear the flowers on the back of your head instead of the top. That way, they don’t totally dominate your entire outfit. Cara Tropical Flower Hair Clip, $36 at Nordstrom.
3. Try a hippie headband with wide-spaced blooms. I’m not a giant fan of the low-rider headband, but I think on a warm day this spring, this one would add a perfect little bohemian touch. River Island Flower Garden Headband, $14 at Asos
Or maybe I’m just talking crazy. I don’t know: Are you into any of the above three interpretations of the flower crown look, or would you rather avoid the blossoms entirely this spring? Would any of you wear an actual full-on flower crown soon, and if so, how?
