An Ode to D.J. Tanner’s Epic Double Bangs on Full House
Everyone is buzzing about Full House right now—yet somehow everyone is forgetting the real star of the show: D.J. Tanner’s double bangs. And we’re about to fix that right here, right now.
For those of you who weren’t around at the time (or just weren’t TGIF fans), double bangs were a style in which you had straight-across bangs that fell into your face with another layer that was teased and hair sprayed to loom above them. So many young girls had these in the ’90s (including this writer) and Candace Cameron (now Bure), who possibly was the queen of them. It was a goal to get difference in height of the two layers that the eldest Tanner child had, and countless hours were spent in front of our mirrors across the country trying to mimic it. Hey, why settle for one style of bangs when you could have two? It was an indecisive girl’s dream come true. You see the appeal.
So let’s take a moment to appreciate the wonderfully awful hair look, shall we?
