Another Princess Just Copied Kate Middleton’s Lob

Another royal known for her long, thick hair just got a pretty major haircut, and now the world is wondering: Could the new, much-shorter look have been inspired by Kate Middleton’s recent lob?

Princess Sofia of Sweden debuted a shoulder-length haircut at the Christmas in Vasastan concert in Stockholm yesterday, and upon seeing the photos, our minds obviously went directly to Duchess Catherine’s quite similar new length. Princess Sofia had hair that mirrored Middleton’s before the change too, previously wearing her long layers softly curled into loose waves. Her hair color, though, was recently a very on-trend subtle ombre, while her new shorter hair features a dark-brunette hue that’s more similar to her British counterpart’s.

Then again, the princess happens to be expecting her first child, due in April, so perhaps she was simply tired of dealing with pregnancy’s extra-abundant hair. We can imagine blowouts take forever when you’re blessed with hair like hers, and have endless royal engagements to attend. Having less length would definitely streamline the process, and as Middleton’s hairdresser recently revealed, the Duchess’s royal lob is “a practical style and a great option for a mom who has had long hair, who has a busy life and is short on time.”

Whatever the inspiration behind the change, the next question is obvious: Will Princess Sofia get bangs like Kate’s too? Now that Middleton is rumored to be regretting hers, we’ll go ahead and speculate that the answer’s probably no.
