Beauty PSA: Nicole Kidman Has Kate Middleton-Status Hair Right Now

Amidst the parade of predictably creative hairstyles at last night’s 2016 SAG Awards, we found ourselves oddly fixated on Nicole Kidman’s long strawberry-blond hair, even though she simply wore it loose. It seemed fuller and longer, styled into an enviably smooth-yet-swooping blowout. It looked crazy healthy for hair its length. But more than all that, her hair looked…familiar. Then it hit us. Nicole Kidman had somehow achieved that pinnacle of all #hairgoals, one relatable to women all over the planet. She had Kate Middleton hair. Pre-recent shorter haircut Kate Middleton hair, that is.

No wonder we were having deja vu. Over the years, we’ve spent more time overanalyzing (/borderline stalking) Middleton’s bouncy blowout than any other celebrity’s hairstyle (other than maybe Jennifer Aniston’s signature highlighted layers). What makes it so intriguing is that it maintains that girl-next-door vibe, like she could almost have styled it herself, even though we know this was the work of hairstylist Italo Gregorio and his kit of Pai-Shau hair products. Yet at the same time, we all know the truth—hair that thick, long, lustrous, and swingy is utterly unattainable for 90 percent of womankind. Kate Middleton hair is real-life Barbie hair. On a real-life princess. Can you blame us for being obsessed?

Meanwhile, you know we can’t help but wonder whether even Kate Middleton herself might be envying Kidman’s Kate Middleton hair (try reading that tongue-twister out loud), since she confessed to not loving her recent bangs haircut in December.

If Kidman’s next-level hair has you pining for Kate Middleton hair all over again, all we can say is we’re sorry, we feel your plight. But hey, at least you can now buy the conditioner she uses?
