Can Someone Please Explain Madonna’s Grill Situation?

First, let me be clear: I love Madonna in an irrational way that can only be created in childhood and will never ever cease. However, I don’t understand what the woman is doing with a grill on her teeth.

She wore one yesterday to her Hard Candy Fitness Center in Rome. And I admit I’m not really a grill person, so perhaps I just don’t see the genius here, but I find this confusing. Haven’t we been through this? She did the gold-tooth-thing in the ’90s, and Madonna isn’t usually one to repeat things, so I’m surprised we’re seeing this on her. But, then, she’s also wearing her ’80s-style fingerless gloves again, so maybe everything old is new again with her these days. Regardless, I still don’t think I can support this whole grill thing. It’s just not working for me.
