Can We Talk About Kim Kardashian’s Blue-Black Hair Color for a Sec?

Kim Kardashian’s new short haircut has been stealing all her hair’s thunder recently—and somehow we didn’t notice that somewhere along the way she went full-on blue-black on us with her hair color. But you can clearly see the undertones in this outdoor shot of her taken in SoHo yesterday.

It’s tough to hit anything resembling natural when you go for blue-black, but Kim’s hair manages to bop it on the head. It’s a rich, luminous option for brunettes and great for this pre-spring time of year.

If you can pull off hair this dark, this is an incredibly chic choice for you. My only warning is that it might increase your upkeep—black-black can fade to a grayish hue pretty quickly, so you might find yourself reapplying more frequently than usual. But that should be an easy adjustment—so many hair color companies like Garnier and John Frieda make a blue-black that the dye is readily available everywhere.
