Cara Delevingne Just Shaved Off All Her Hair

Did you feel the world shift in the last 24 hours? An unexplained disturbance in the force? You might’ve, because Cara Delevingne just made a major hair change—and given the model/actress’s skill for setting trends and taking names, you’re going to want to see it. Spoiler: This is no mere inch dusting (although we love those too, obviously). This is more along the lines of a seismic shake. Cara Delevingne just shaved her head, and we can’t wait to see what comes next.

Spotted on the set of her new movie, Life in a Year, the cut was in all likelihood plot-driven. Co-starring Jaden Smith as her boyfriend, per IMDB, Delevingne’s character is told she has a year to live following a cancer diagnosis. The movie follows Jaden helping her make the most of it, while clearly still incorporating the reality of cancer.

Shaved heads definitely aren’t new, but Cara’s commitment to a truthful depiction is giving us high hopes for the movie. The more stories of women outside so-called traditional beauty norms on the big screen, the better. Honestly, though, we’re especially interested in how Delevingne will handle the aftermath (or lack thereof, if she keeps it! Options open). With the Met Gala on Monday and Cara’s powerhouse model status, we’re hoping she takes the cut front and center in the public eye. She’s basically responsible for an entire industry of eyebrow products—and has spoken out on refusing to conform—so if anyone could bring bald beauty into the mainstream, it could be her.

On the flip side, there’s never enough inspiration for growing out short cuts. And if Cara, eternal wild card, opts for extensions in her old silver blonde instead? It’d be a little “same old” for the star, but there’s no wrong answer.
