Every Beauty Look Jennifer Lopez Wore to Host the 2015 AMAs, Ranked
Last night’s 2015 American Music Awards was like a parade of Jennifer Lopez prettiness—she served as host, so she was on stage a lot, and her glam squad was on hand to quick-change her hair and makeup, oh, just a million times with every outfit she wore. It was like a Pinterest board of Jennifer Lopez inspiration brought to life.
So what did we see? Her hair hit every note imaginable from sleek and straight to a soft sweet ponytail to a chic topknot. Her makeup mostly stayed within the signature J.Lo smoky-eye-nude-lip family with some curveballs thrown in (hello, darkish lipstick! Nice of you to make it out!). And, of course, she looked great in every single one. Come on, this is Jennifer Lopez. If ever there were a goddess sent from the heavens to bless us with a glowing, shimmery gorgeousness, it’s J.Lo.
In other words, it’s a difficult task to pick a favorite look among the ones she went for last night, but we caffeined-up and did it just for you, our hard-working, beauty lovers. It was hard, we’re not going to lie. Seriously. We’re exhausted. Send a fruit basket.
And now a countdown to our number one pick! Get ready to be flooded with inspiration for all your holiday parties coming up. Or if you don’t have any on your calendar yet, perhaps you’ll suddenly want to throw your own. We’re pretty sure that ponytail in number 4 is calling your name.
Number 9: Her robe “oops” moment. Whether planned or truly candid, the camera caught her backstage mid-change during the show with a towel on her head. An adorable twist, but not one you’d want to copy in real life. Well, unless your Lopez, who looks quite smashing in a towel turban.
Number 8: Her beige makeup and low ponytail. Signature Lopez.
Number 7: Her raspberry lip gloss and sleek hair moment. So chic.
Number 6: Her bun with a high-neck, sparkly dress. “Demure” and “sweet” are the two words that come to mind here.
Number 5: Her shaggy texture. Equal parts glam and boho (and perfect for her performance).
Number 4: Her high ponytail and lovely red smackers (which mirrored the kiss-mark pattern on her dress).
Number 3: Her ’90s brown lipstick (with tucked hair)—retro but still modern.
Number 2: Her bold lipstick, which contrasted with the bright yellow fabric she wore it with in the most stunning way. Also her updo here? Gorge.
And, finally, our favorite, look number 1: Her perfectly strobed skin and high bun—the look her long-time makeup artist Mary Phillips named as her favorite on Instagram, and we can see why. Her complexion looked so flawless, so perfectly highlighted, you can’t help but stop and wonder if she’s actually human.
