Here’s a Cool Way to Wear Lavender Eyeshadow (Thanks Naya Rivera!)
It’s no secret that we love Naya Rivera’s sexy eye makeup over here in Glamour’s beauty department, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that we’re rather intrigued by how cool she made lavender look not too long ago:
It’s liberally dusted it underneath her lower lids, from the inner corners of the eyes extending up and all the way out into a cat eye-like tail. Having deja vu? That’s because she’s rocked it before, last time with a gorgeous copper brown shade.
For this particular look, Jo Baker (her amazing makeup artist) created a soft haze of pretty pastel color all over Naya’s eyes with Giorgio Armani Maestro Shadow #11 ($29 at GiorgioArmaniBeauty-USA.com). “This acts as a base as we build and intensify this dreamy look!”
From there, she applied Chanel waterproof violet liner heavily along her water line and added a dollop of DiorShow azure blue mascara on her lower lashes. “The lavender, blue and violet together look vibrant and make Naya’s eyes pop,” says Baker.
I, for one, have never thought of wearing purple eyeshadow (let alone a shimmery lavender shade), but now I’m considering it. I think wearing it beneath the eye makes it a fun, fresh way to draw attention to the eyes without it feeling to overpowering and ’80s.
What do you think about lavender on Naya’s lower lids? Would you try it? And do you wear purple eyeshadow on a regular basis?
