Here’s Exactly How We Picked the Best Beauty Products for 2017

At Glamour we take beauty awards seriously. In fact, over the last decade-plus, over 414,000 women have voted in our annual surveys. So for the 2017 Glamour Beauty Awards, we decided to go deeper, and more detailed than ever!

First, we broke up the winners by drugstore, natural, designer, and hair to give you the best options in multiple categories. Then we selected a panel of 45 judges whom we trust and learn from daily—whether backstage at the fashion shows or on their very popular YouTube channels. (Get to know them below.)

Next, we looked at every single launch from the past year and narrowed the finalists down: Which stood out most? Which did we see behind the scenes at every shoot? Which did we schlep home from the office and use in our real lives? From there, our judges helped pick the 73 new winners—along with the 17 Cult Classics, all products that are new but beloved.
