How Gorgeous is Thandie Newton’s Pretty, Curly Bun Hairstyle?

That hairstyle that Thandie Newton wore to the Jimmy Choo and Esquire party in London on Sunday? I know it well—quite well, in fact.

As a fellow curly-haired girl myself, I do this exact same style when I need to get my hair out of my face and keep it off my neck, like when I step out to run errands or I jog a few miles through the park. I just pull my ringlets into a side pony a few inches above the nape of my neck and pull them halfway through the elastic so that the end result is a big bun on the bottom with several short curls sticking out of the top and around the sides.

It’s been my go-to lazy hairdo for the longest time, but now that I see how cute it actually is, and that it works for a fancy evening out on the town, maybe I’ll try it for my next date night with The Boy!

Side note: I love that she’s proudly embracing her natural hair texture, which is reportedly to set a good example for her daughters in order to teach them that their naturally curly hair is just as beautiful as silky, straight strands.

But I digress. What say you about Thandie’s lazy ‘do? A lovely look or too laid-back for a public appearance?
