How to Copy the Suuuper-Sexy Makeup Game of Thrones Star Emilia Clarke Wore Last Night

Girls may be on hiatus (booo!), but Game of Thrones comes back soon—and you MUST see how Emilia Clarke looked at last night’s season-three premiere.

But first, can we discuss how I didn’t even recognize her as Khaleesi with that dark brown hair instead of platinum blond? It took me like 30 seconds to even register who she was!

Anyway. Let’s move on to her premiere gorgeousness and zoom in on that stunning eye makeup.

Here’s how to copy Emilia’s makeup next time you want to sex things up in a subtle way, courtesy of makeup artist Dawn Broussard, who wanted to give the actress a glamorous-yet-innocent look. “Emilia’s dress had royal blue tones and was super sleek and modern, so we didn’t want to contrast too much with her makeup. We wanted timeless glamour with a hint of something excitable,” she explains. Here’s her how-to:

1. Apply black eyeliner to your upper and lower lash line. Using a palette of stone grays with silver accents, create a subtle smoky eye.

2. Stick individual false eyelashes along your top lash line, layering short lashes with medium lashes to create a natural fringe.

3. Apply black mascara to your top lashes and brown mascara to the bottom.

4. Apply a soft, matte bronzer to your cheekbones, under your chin and on your nose, then blend a soft, baby-pink blush upward into the bronzer. Finish with a pale pink highlighter that is a few shades lighter than the blush, on the apples of your cheeks.

5. Choose a lip color that’s a few shades darker than your natural lip color and dab on with a fingertip to create a stain.

Also worth noting: Dawn prepped Emilia’s skin with Biore Acne Clearing Scrub, to exfoliate and sweep away any dull, dead skin.
