How to Fake Rosario Dawson’s Half-Shaved Haircut Just Like Jessica Alba

Here’s some hair-related awesomeness from Comic-Con: Jessica Alba and Rosario Dawson modeling their asymmetrical hairstyles together (complete with matching head tilts).

Of course, Rosario actually has her head partially shaved, while Jessica was only trying on a mock undercut look for the day. The trick: Half her hair was slicked back in a braid.

We have the behind-the-scenes scoop on Jess’s cool look from hairstylist Renato Campora. “When I saw Jessica’s outfit, I decided to do something modern, funky, and a little bit sexy,” he says. “I also wanted to create a hairstyle that was easy for her to manage throughout the day.”

Here’s his how-to for Jessica’s half-back hairstyle:

1. Part wet hair beginning at the top of the head all the way down to the nape of the neck.

2. On the left side, apply spray gel and create a flat braid (cornrow) from the front to the back of the head. End the braid underneath the loose hair on the right side and secure with a tiny rubber band.

3. Apply a volumizing spray (he used Kerastase Volumactive) to the right side of the hair and blow-dry with a round brush. Blow the hair forward in the front to give it volume and that cool side-swept look. “To finish, I ran through the hair with a T3 flatiron to give it that extra sleekness,” Campora says.
