Kate Hudson Just Chopped Her Hair Off

Kate Hudson just debuted a new short haircut on Instagram.

Reposted by her longtime hairstylist David Babaii while behind the scenes of a movie she’s shooting (the title of which her hashtag suggests is The Long Night), the picture shows a shoulder-skimming style that was still in the wet stage. Her caption: “First day on set of new film and they’re going to town on my hair! Ah!!!!! #TheLongNight.”

Although it’s not quite *short *short, the length is a major jump from beach-Barbie look she’s been sporting for a while:

One thing that will be interesting to see? How this cut brings out her natural wavy texture—something she discovered her hair had when she chopped it off in her youth. Without the weight of the length to smooth it down, she just might go full-on curly on us.
