Kylie Jenner Just Got a Butterfly Tattoo With a Secret Meaning

For someone with such a huge Internet presence, it’s rare that we get a tidbit into Kylie Jenner’s inner life (that is, until Life of Kylie drops). The lady knows how to pose, how to create a killer beauty empire, and most of all, how to play her cards close to her chest. But on Snapchat yesterday, the youngest Kar-Jenner posted a quick photo of what looks like a new tattoo—and boy, are we into decoding this hidden meaning.

The tattoo, a tiny butterfly on the back of Kylie’s ankle, is super delicate—it looks like the tattoo equivalent of a charm necklace. And online speculation is that it serves the same function: Coincidentally, the wee butterfly is identical to one posted by Kylie’s boyfriend, musician Travis Scott.

It’s unclear whether either of the two butterflies is a real-deal tattoo or just plain ink, but the two do look like exact duplicates, so either the couple went in on matching, custom temporary tats, someone in their life is really good at drawing butterflies, or, yup, they’re tattoos. If it’s a permanent fixture, Kylie’s new ankle art joins a significant line-up: she also has tattoos of her grandmother’s name, “sanity” spelled phonetically, a red heart, and a matching “M” with Jordyn Woods.
