Lauren Conrad Just Chopped Her Hair Off Into the Cutest Bob

Certain hair looks are just so good that they stick in your mind for years. While some are harder to make happen than others (for instance, Peyton’s curly cut from One Tree Hill, my personal dream), it’s the holy grail when you’ve found your own best cut. And nothing’s easier than strolling into the stylist with a photo of yourself from three years ago, as Lauren Conrad just did for her new, shoulder-dusting lob.

After teasing the chop on Instagram last week, Conrad and her hairstylist, Kristin Ess, just posted a photo of what went down. Leaving behind the long waves that LC’s worn for the past few years, the pair opted for a throwback to the mid-length bob that Ess gave Conrad three years ago. Per Ess’s Instagram caption, “✂️ Last week we traveled 3 years back in time and returned to the chop that kicked off my bob & lob obsession on my original kween. #ClearTheShoulders.”

Conrad also gave us another angle of the cut on her Instagram, where she posted a photo of her new look with the scissors emoji. Yeah, that doesn’t say much, but the photo says it all: her new cut is the epitome of chic, easy, slightly piecey texture.

The reason behind the cut? According to Conrad, it was less about nostalgia, and more about the present. She told People Style: “Honestly, [the short hair] is more of a time saver. I have to blow dry my hair while my son is napping and it doesn’t always last that long so less hair is less time. I don’t have time for a lot of hair.”

Relatable. Just don’t call it a mom cut. “Kristin doesn’t do mom cuts. She cuts moms’ hair. But I don’t think she wants me to call any haircut she does a mom cut.”
