Meghan Trainor Is All About Her…Extensions
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Meghan Trainor on the set of her latest project with Clinique (she’s the brand’s newest celebrity face and designed a cute custom makeup bag in honor of her “Lips Are Movin” video). We talked all things beauty and confidence. Check it out, below!
Where does your awesome self-esteem come from?
I worked on it for a very long time. The song [“All About That Bass”] really helped me. Singing the lyrics over and over again and seeing the reaction from the crowds, I would walk off feeling like Beyonce…feeling like I’m confident and gorgeous.
What are your biggest confidence tips?
You gotta speak it out loud. I’ll be like, “Oh my God, I look bomb in that picture! Yeah, I look amazing. My driver’s license? What a picture that is!” And saying it has really helped the confidence go up because I know I look that good and I feel that good and it has made a huge difference.
What do you love most about yourself, beauty-wise?
I love my extensions. No one talks about it, but everyone’s got ’em. I was never allowed to dye my hair or get highlights or extensions because my mom was like, “people pay money to get their hair colored, don’t do that.” My first extensions ever were for the “Bass” video, and it was a whole new world. I felt more powerful. I love my extensions, and I don’t mind talking about them.
Tell me about your makeup routine.
I’m very pale. I love being pale because when you put on any type of makeup, people notice it right away—they’re like, “Oh, she has a lip on!” But brows are everything. And a lip. And mascara.
