Surprise Twist: Rosamund Pike Has an Undercut (A.K.A. a Partially Shaved Head)
Star of the upcoming Gone Girl Rosamund Pike surprised us a lot at our cover shoot, and here’s one more shocker: She shaved the underside of her hair into an undercut, which she displayed last night at the What We Did on Our Holiday premiere:
Oh, wow—the bottom half of your head is shaved? So surprising and covertly edgy! Two years ago. Now, not as much. We barely blinked when otherwise proper-seeming Gone Girl actress Rosamund Pike rocked an undercut with her updo recently. Time for someone to dream up a new statement haircut.
It’s unexpected but playful, and that feeds right into her not-too-fussy style philosophy. Here’s what she told the book’s author Gillian Flynn about her personal style: “I look my best when I’m totally free, on holiday, walking on the beach. Paying no attention.” A girl who doesn’t want to try too hard—that’s something we can all get behind. And having a little breeze on the back of your neck must be nice.
