The Dos and Don’ts of Short Hair, According to Coco Rocha

Everyone’s getting chopped—from our cover girl Rihanna to supermodel Coco Rocha, who shows off her new crop here. Should you go short? Heed Coco’s Dos and Don’ts, below, if you do!

DO pick a style that works for your face.

I play with wigs all the time for work. I would try on different styles to see how they feel, what’s most flattering. A wig shop is a must.

DON’T assume it’s a no-style style.

Everyone says short cuts are easier, but when I had long hair, it was wash, go to sleep, wake up, and go. Now I have to tame this beast every morning!

DO experiment with your texture.

The more product you use, the sharper a short cut will look. If you want a dreamier feel, you can put a curling iron to it and leave the ends wispy.

DON’T wear the same clothes as before.

Clothes will look different with a short crop. Mine doesn’t quite go with a maxidress, but I’ve been wearing a lot more leather jackets.
