Trick From Jennifer Aniston’s Makeup Artist: Enhance Blue Eyes With Warm Brown Shadow
According to our recent poll, 48 percent of you wish Jennifer Aniston would do something more adventurous with her hair and makeup for a change. However, the consensus seems to be that her current look–however predictable–is pretty fabulous. So I thought I’d share the trick that made her blue eyes really pop in this photo.
For the New York premiere of “The Bounty Hunter,” Chanel makeup artist Angela Levin wanted to give Jen’s makeup a “warm, sun-kissed look.”
Now let’s take a closer peek at Jen’s eye makeup.
Notice how her brown eyeshadow has a slight reddish tone to it? This is what Angela says makes their blue hue really pop. She used one multipurpose makeup palette to do Jen’s eyes, lips and cheeks: the Collection Essentielle de Chanel Multi-Use Make-Up Palette in Paris-New York.
She brushed the light-beige shade all over Jen’s lids and used the light-brown one in her crease; she then wet an eyeliner brush and used that to apply the same light-brown color as liner (another cool trick!). As a finishing touch, she went in with a little of the reddish-brown color to bring out Jen’s baby blues.
I like this tip because it shows how a subtle shadow choice can still make your eyes pop; you don’t necessarily have to contrast green eyes with bright-purple liner, for instance, to get that intensifying effect.
What color are your eyes, and do you have a trick for making the shade look richer or brighter?
