Two Ways to Rethink Your Day and Night Makeup for Spring Thanks to Jennifer Connelly
Every so often, Jennifer Connelly comes back into the spotlight and I think, Oh, hello, I forget exactly how spectacularly gorgeous you are! Such is the case right now, since Jennifer’s out promoting her film Noah. Her makeup looks have been so inspiring too; the following very different concepts have both infatuated me in totally opposite ways. They’re basically my dream day and night makeup looks for this spring.
1. The perfect day makeup
This makeup is almost nude, but mere hints of shine make Jennifer’s eyes and lips gleam and stand out. The shimmering bronze shade she has blended all the way around her lashes would look amazing on just about any skin tone, and it’s such a mellow color that it makes shine wearable in broad daylight. Note how her brows are not filled in too sharply on the outer edges, so they’re strong but still soft.
2. The perfect night makeup
YES to this sheer, ethereal purple eye! I think purple is perfect on every eye color, and it manages to be quirky, festive, and totally elegant all at once. Plus, what’s nice about this idea is that you could easily use it to change up your makeup from day to night—just whip out your purple eye crayon and layer it on atop whatever neutral makeup you had on for day. Instant glam transformation.
