Each October, we swear this is the year we’re going to put together a genius Halloween costume. We fire up our cold Pinterest accounts and start the idea hunt. Then we blink and the party’s tomorrow and ain’t nobody got time for that. If you can relate, here’s an idea to keep on file—the easy Halloween makeup, nails, and hair that Vanessa Hudgens wore last night.

Yes, being a cat for Halloween is basic, but that’s just one of many reasons this works. It’s not trying too hard, and it’s universally adorable and fun. Sexy cat-eye makeup and black oval nails play off the ears headband, giving off all of the cute kitty vibes with minimal effort. Really, this is a procrastinator’s dream. You can snatch up all the components (liquid liner, nail polish, headband) at the drugstore or local Halloween pop-up shop. And it’s ideal for those times when you want to get in the Hallo spirit without wearing a head-to-toe costume.
