Wow or WTF: Bright-Bright (Bright!) Blue Contact Lenses

We’ve talked about electric-blue eye makeup in the past. But what are your thoughts on electric-blue eyes?

Lindsay Lohan wore what appear to be bright turquoise contacts to her birthday pool party at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas yesterday (perhaps so they’d color-coordinate with the chlorinated water?). I can’t decide whether they are kind of awesome, or kind of evil. We’ve seen slightly more believable blue contacts on celebs in the past; take Paris Hilton, for example. Her God-given eye color is actually brown.

What do you guys think of bright-bright blue contacts, and colored contacts in general? I’ve never tried them; luckily I do not need glasses yet–maybe if and when I do, I’ll be excited to play around with colored ones. Somehow I don’t think so, though. I’m kind of proud of my nice green eye color as it is, and I suspect I’d feel strange with any other shade.

Do you think Lindsay’s bright-bright-bright blue contacts are a do or a don’t? A Wow or a WTF? What about slightly more realistic blue ones? Have you ever worn colored contacts?
