5 Things to Know About Taylor Swift’s Reported New Boyfriend, the 1975’s Matt Healy
I’ve been loving this no-dating, focus-on-“me” time that Taylor Swift has been doing for the past year plus—because, hey, sometimes it’s good to have a no-guy moment—but if rumors are to be believed, then the singer has been quietly seeing a new guy, the 1975 frontman Matt Healy. But when I mentioned this around the office, the response of many was, “Who is that?”
And, according to his Twitter, apparently even he doesn’t know…

OK, so he’s obviously joking, but I figured I’d fill you all in on the basics about Mr. Healy. Let’s catch up:
1. He’s the lead singer and guitarist of the 1975. He met his bandmates Adam Hann, George Daniel, and Ross MacDonald in high school, and they released their self-titled debut album in 2013.
If you haven’t heard their hit “Chocolate” yet, check it out:
2. He is 25 years old and from England.
3. Matt and Taylor met backstage at his band’s L.A. concert. “We exchanged numbers,” he told Australian radio show Shazam Top 20. “I mean, bloody hell, what am I going to do? Go out with Taylor Swift? She’s a sensation; I wouldn’t say no!”

4. Days after attending a concert of theirs, Taylor was spotted in a the 1975 T-shirt. Even more interesting, Matt was seen wearing a 1989 T-shirt.
5. That whole Karlie-Taylor kissing rumor nonsense—seriously, they look like they’re just talking—took place at the 1975 concert in New York City. Not sure what that means, other than Taylor has been to more than one 1975 concert.
