Anna Kendrick Just Hilariously Shaded the ‘Pitch Perfect’ Movies
There’s no denying that Anna Kendrick, Brittany Snow, Rebel Wilson, and the rest of the Barden Bellas love the Pitch Perfect movies. They wouldn’t have made three films—and even discussed the possibility of a fourth—if their passion wasn’t there. The behind-the-scenes pics from the Pitch Perfect sets show just how much these gals enjoy getting their acapella on with each other. It’a sisterhood, simply put—a sisterhood that rakes in boatloads of cash at the box office.
But that doesn’t mean the Bellas can’t roll their eyes—playfully, of course—at the franchise every now and then. I mean, Pitch Perfect is pretty ridiculous if you think about it. It’s about college-level acapella singing, which I didn’t even know was a thing.
And the promotion for each of these films has been stacked with “pitch” puns, both naturally and forced. The tagline for the first movie was “Get pitch-slapped.” The second one was pretty obvious: “We’re back, pitches,” But the third one takes the cake in terms of cheesiness and awkwardness: “The Night Before Pitchmas,” one of the posters advertising the film reads. Yes, “Pitchmas”—as in “Christmas” with the word “pitch” in place of “Chris.” It’s official: We’ve now reached maximum levels of “pitch” wordplay.
Kendrick agrees with me, too—if her most recent post on Instagram is any indication, that is. The actress posted a photo of the film’s “Night Before Pitchmas” ad and captioned it with something pretty hilarious and shady (in the best way possible). “Feels like we might be forcing the word play at this point BUT I DON’T CARE. #Pitchmas #WhateverThatIs,” Kendrick wrote. See it for yourself, below:

Of course, Kendrick wasn’t actually being snarky here—this was most likely just a silly joke. However, we’re living for the fact a Pitch Perfect cast member said something fans have been thinking for years. Now that’s the ultimate “pitch-slap,” TBH.
