Ariana Grande’s New Song Is Way More NSFW Than You Thought

“Side to Side”—the latest track from Ariana Grande—is one of summer 2016’s greatest tunes. The breezy slice of R&B fuzz features Nicki Minaj and has such an addictive beat that you don’t even pay attention to the lyrics.

But that’s a big mistake, people. Why? Because Grande is actually cooing some pretty X-rated words into your ear as you bop up and down at the club, the gym, or—oops—your mother’s house.

“I’ve been here all night. I’ve been here all day. And boy, got me walkin’ side to side,” Grande belts in her signature Mariah Carey-like cadence. Think closely about what she is saying. If you draw a blank, Grande confirmed it herself during an interview at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, August 28: It’s about having so much sex that you start feeling sore—and lose the ability to walk properly. Yup. This is the fun song you sent to your grandmother because you thought “she’d like the beat.”

“That whole song is about riding leading to soreness,” Grande told MTV News’ Gaby Wilson on Sunday. “Ride dick bicycle is the lyric, indeed.”

This means, yes, the bicycles in Grande’s “Side to Side” video are metaphors for dicks. Lots and lots of dicks.
