Casey Wilson and June Diane Raphael Share a Clip of Their Sundance Hit Ass-Backwards–AND Make You a Killer Road Trip Playlist Just in Time for the Weekend

Since I spend the bulk of my time shrieking about Casey Wilson in Happy Endings, obsessing over June Diane Raphael in Burning Love, or just making you guys look at pictures of the two of them holding hands, this is very exciting for me.

The longtime writing partners have released a clip of their Sundance hit Ass-Backwards–and when I saw it, I had to share, so that you can almost fall on the floor, too.

OK, so that’s not just hilarious (slash a great demonstration of road-trip turban-chic)–it’s also really impressive, this art form they’ve made out of singing to skips. Right?

Turns out the duo had some real life experience. As they wrote to us:

“We went on a road trip from New York to North Carolina, planned by June, that had us going the most cockamamie route to save 40 cents. We lost an entire day driving in the wrong direction–we dipped into Florida at one point! It was hot, Casey’s cell had been turned off for non-payment and we had a case full of CD’s that ALL skipped because they were so scratched up. Finally, we just said f— it, turned up the volume and memorized the skips. With harmonies. This scene is an ode to that road trip.”
