Come See Adorable Puppies, Sexy Princes, and Mark-Paul Gosselaar Pics!
We may be in the dog days of summer, but Hollywood isn’t slowing down AT ALL. Why? It’s the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour, which got under way yesterday at the Beverly Hilton. It’s two weeks of fall TV unveilings, show panels, and network soirees. In other words, it’s where I get to catch up with all your favorite returning (and new!) TV stars about what’s to come in September.
The National Geographic Channel kicked things off Tuesday night with the cutest puppies ever to celebrate Nat Geo WILD’s new show Secret Life of Dogs, which premieres Sunday, August 25. Just check out the cover image on the invitation. Can’t. Handle. It.
Everything about this:
Me and my new BFF:
One sleepy pup:
Two sleeping Bernese mountain dogs. Want!
This little guy, a rescue puppy, was shaking at first but then hung out in my arms for almost an hour. If it wasn’t for the fact that my schedule can’t really sustain having a dog, I was thisclose to taking him home.
Proof in the photo:
Back in the lobby lounge, I interviewed the cast of TLC’s Secret Princes, premiering its second season in October. From left to right: Italian Prince Lorenzo, Prince Alexander (a descendant of the Russian Romanoff dynasty), Commoner Radloff, the Honorable Oliver Plunkett of Ireland, and Lord Robert Jonathan Walters from England (or, as I like to call him, “Rob”). I’ll tell you guys right now, forget The Bachelor and watch this show instead.
Over at the pool, a stunning Angie Harmon posed at TNT’s 25th Anniversary party, where she also caught up with late-night host Conan O’Brien. I talked to Coco as well and will have an extended interview with him coming next month!
I ended up interviewing Angie as we walked up the stairs to the hotel lobby and out to the valet to get an answer for one Glamour reader’s question:
@JRadloff @glamourmag For Rizzoliandisles will either character have a relationship this season?
— Monica Modzelewski (@onandoffduty_) July 24, 2013
Here you go, Monica!
Sasha Alexander: “She meets a really cute bomb-tech guy played by Eric Winter. Super hottie. And he seems to be a really nice guy and not a serial killer! He has a brainy side to him as well. It’s looking up, I hope!”
Angie Harmon: “There’s sort of another rooster in the hen house, but he is super fun. I think last year we saw some cracks in the armor for Jane, and now that I think she has sort of softened as a person, it’s fun to play. Her ex boss has come back, and there are all those feelings that have come up.”
Meanwhile, Eric Dane stars in TNT’s new drama series The Last Ship, premiering in 2014.
What was his funniest day shooting so far? “When I showed up in my dress whites and got saluted by 90 percent of the United States Navy, who had no idea who I was, but just looked at the bars on the uniform. You really haven’t lived until you’ve been saluted. It’s a great feeling!”
When I asked if he tried it out on his wife, he quipped, “If I made her salute me, she’d say, ‘Honey, walk back out and come back in with a different attitude!'”
Check out Franklin & Bash hotties Breckin Meyer and Mark-Paul Gosselaar hanging out in the TV Guide photo booth.
These guys are seriously hilarious. Just take a look at this exchange, prompted by reader Daniel Solzman:
@JRadloff For Franklin and Bash, what is their favorite part of doing the show?
— Danielle Solzman (@DanielleSATM) July 24, 2013
Breckin Meyer: “I honestly like the relationship most between Franklin and Bash.”
Mark-Paul Gosselaar: “No, what do you like most about doing the show?”
BM: “Oh!”
MPG: “I actually like doing the show because I get to go to work with people that I actually enjoy hanging out with. I mean, there are certain mornings I don’t want to go to work and even look at this guy because I’m kinda cranky in the morning, but as the day rolls along I’m with people that I really enjoy. We are all like-minded in a way, so it’s nice to be in a creative environment and surrounded by people you like.”
Glamour: “Why are you so cranky in the morning? You have a gorgeous wife, awesome kids, a great job…”
MPG: “I don’t know.”
BM: “Coffee wouldn’t do it. He’s just not a morning person.”
MPG: “Yeah, I’m just not a morning person. I like quiet. Breckin on the other hand is f–kin loud.”
BM: “I’m like a canon.”
MPG: “Yeah, he comes out like Speedy Gonzales. I’m like, ‘Shut the f–k up!'” [Laughs]
BM: “I absolutely agree! We just have a great time making our show, and I think it translates on screen.”__
Dallas stars Julie Gonzalo, Jordana Brewster, and Josh Henderson graced the party and hung out with fellow cast members Linda Gray, Jesse Metcalfe, Patrick Duffy, and Brenda Strong. The show returns in January 2014.
__Coming up on Saturday I’ll have the second installment of my TCA diary with scoop from HBO, Lifetime, and AMC! Breaking Bad, anyone?
