Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder Just Had Their Baby—And Her Name Is Beautiful

Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder can officially call themselves parents. E! News reports the couple quietly welcomed their daughter, Bodhi Soleil Reed Somerhalder, on Tuesday, July 25.

The couple hasn’t confirmed the news themselves—and given Reed’s recent comments to Fit Pregnancy, it seems unlikely they’ll say anything about baby Bodhi anytime soon. Reed told the magazine she and Somerhalder are unplugging for one month after their child is born—no social media, no phones, nothing. In other words, an Instagram post announcing the birth of Bodhi isn’t in the cards—for now, at least.

“We’ll take the baby’s first month for ourselves,” Reed said, according to People. “After the baby arrives, we’re doing one month of silence. Just the three of us, no visitors, and we’re turning off our phones too, so there’s no expectation for us to communicate. Otherwise, every five minutes it would be, ‘How are you feeling? Can we have a picture?’ You don’t get those first 30 days back, and we want to be fully present.”

Don’t worry, though: We’re sure Reed and Somerhalder will share some photos on social media after their one-month detox. After all, Reed’s post announcing her pregnancy was so great.

“Hi Little One I know you, but only because I feel you,” she wrote on Instagram in early May. “How is it possible to love someone so much already? All I know for sure is it’s the strongest feeling I’ve ever felt. We’ve been sharing this body for quite some time, and we’ve already experienced so much together. We can’t wait to meet you… Love Your parents.”

Somerhalder’s post announcing the pregnancy was just as wonderful. “To our friends, family, and rest of the world. In my 38 years on this earth, I’ve never experienced anything more powerful and beautiful than this,” he wrote on Instagram. “I can’t think of anything more exciting than this next chapter and we wanted you to hear this from us first. This has been the most special time of our lives and we wanted to keep it between the three of us for as long as possible so we could enjoy this time with each other and our little one who is growing so fast…because that’s what they do, they grow so fast. Thank you for your kind energy.”
