See a New Side of Mary and Jessica in This Exclusive ‘Pretty Little Liars’ Deleted Scene

Warning: Pretty Little Liars spoilers ahead.

It’s been a month since Pretty Little Liars aired its final, explosive episode, and fans still haven’t recovered. I mean, it was a lot to process: Spencer really did have an evil twin named Alex Drake, who was revealed as A.D. midway through the episode. (She also had the most peculiar British accent in history, which made it difficult to take her evil monologues seriously.) And that wasn’t the only twin reveal: Alison and Emily’s one baby turned out to be twin girls named Lily and Grace. If you couldn’t tell from these tidbits, there was definitely a theme to PLL‘s series finale: twins, twins, and more twins.

Of course, this theme really started back in season four when we met Mary Drake, Jessica DiLaurentis’ twin sister and Spencer’s birth mother. Mary was a prime A.D. suspect for years, but it turned out she was just a mother who wanted to be close to the daughter she lost. (Mary gave Spencer up for adoption.) It was the mystery surrounding Mary’s character that had everyone convinced she was the Big Bad. After all, we really didn’t learn anything concrete about her until the final episodes of the series.

And in a new, exclusive deleted scene from season seven, we learn something else: what she and Jessica looked like as kids. We got our hands on a never-before-seen clip of Spencer and her adopted mother, Veronica, talking about Jessica and Mary, and in it we see the dramatic twosome as young girls. Granted, it’s only a photograph, but it’s still a trip seeing Jessica and Mary years before they wreaked havoc on Rosewood. Check out the clip for yourself, below:

The Pretty Little Liars seventh season and complete series DVDs are available now.
