Throwback Thursday: Celebrites’ Best Halloween Costumes From the Past 10 Years
Here at Glamour HQ, we have been brainstorming Halloween costume ideas nonstop since fall hit: We have ideas for costumes you can keep wearing after October 31, quick-and-easy tricks you can do with a black bra, a costume that even improves your skin while you wear it (really!), a Kate Middleton-meets-Belle idea, Scream Queens-inspired looks, costumes that are probably sitting in your closet already, couple costumes from TV and movies, Disney princess makeup tutorials, and oh-so-many more ideas. Shew!
And even though it’s not October 31 quite yet, it already seems like celebrities are just as inspired as we are—we’re loving Vanessa Hudgens’ easy cat costume and Lauren Conrad’s DIY skills, for example. We can’t wait to see what everyone else dreams up come Halloween night. But, realistically, this isn’t the first year celebs have delivered maje costumes—we took a look back in time and found some delightful Throwback Thursday photos: Halloween edition. Here are some of our favorite celebrity costumes from the past 10 years.
2005
*Hilary Duff and Joel Madden (RIP to their relationship) attended a “Halloween Mansion Party” hosted by Hil’s sister, Haylie. Joel dressed as a spot-on Phantom of the Opera, while Hilary went as…um, a dead person? A zombie? We’re not 100 percent sure exactly what to call her look, but we do love any costume that involves some extreme smokey eye skills. *
2006
Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz attended Heidi Klum’s annual Halloween party dressed as The Royal Tenenbaums character Chas Tenenbaum (who is played by Ben Stiller in the movie). It’s still an easy (and comfy!) costume you could rock today—all you need is a red tracksuit and a curly wig and boom, you’re done.
2007
Here’s The Hills-era Audrina Patridge dressed in a killer Madonna getup.
2008
While we’re on the topic of The Hills, check out Lauren Conrad’s super-cute flapper outfit.
2009
Pour one out for Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey’s relationship: Never again will we get a couples costume as brilliant as “sexy angels.”
2010
In 2010, Jersey Shore was in its heyday—and Snooki wore this fascinating pickle queen costume.
2011
Kelly Ripa dressed as Kim Kardashian in her wedding look No. 1 to Kris Humphries on Halloween night—ironically, Kim had filed for divorce from Kris after 72 days of marriage that same day.
2012
By the next Halloween, Kim was with Kanye West. They dressed up as Catwoman and Batman—joined by Jonathan Cheban as the Joker, Kourtney Kardashian as Catgirl, and Scott Disick as Robin.
2013
2013 was the year that everyone was talking about Miley Cyrus’ Lil Kim costume—including Lil Kim herself.
2014
There were a lot of great costumes last year, but my personal favorite was Katy Perry’s delightful flaming-hot Cheeto. I mean:
