We Went to the Actual Houses Seen on Modern Family! Check Out the Pics And Tell Us Your Fave!

You know the saying, ‘It helps to have friends in high places?’ Well, in this case, it helps to have friends over at Modern Family! From co-creator and executive producer Steve Levitan to the writers and the cast, this is one exceptional group (and the best comedy on TV).

I’ve fortunately been invited to the set multiple times now (Mom & Dad were included on the last one), so it’s only totally normal (right?) that I wanted to see the actual homes used in the exterior shots. Plus, I felt it was my duty—in the name of Glamour research of course—to bring these homes to you. You know, in case you just happen to be casually strolling through a neighborhood and say, ‘Oh, [insert friend’s name here]! What do you know, but I think that’s Jay and Gloria’s house!’

So, the first stop on our virtual TV house tour is the Dunphy house, home to Phill, Claire, Haley, Alex, and Luke.

Details: The two story home is located less than 2 miles from the FOX Studios where Modern Family tapes (Yes, I know it airs on ABC), in the area around Cheviot Hills near Century City.

Below is the center of all the action—on set—at the Dunphy kitchen.

Of course, I can’t leave out the infamous staircase. No, there is no broken stair. (My mom just tripped because she’s a natural klutz).

Nearby the Dunphy home is Cam and Mitch’s duplex.

Address: 2211 Fox Hills Drive, Century City

Details: Their residence is located literally down the street from the FOX studios, and only a five minute walk from the West Coast offices of the St. Louis Rams (in a very unassuming building on Pico Blvd.).

This is the kitchen in which Cameron HATES to clean up.

Here is Lily’s mural in her room of a floating Cam and Mitch.

A little further away—but well worth the 15 minute drive—is Jay, Gloria, and Manny’s house (rather, mansion), in Brentwood. It is MUCH bigger in person, mainly because the exterior shots used on the show only show a portion of the house. Casually walk or drive by, and you’ll notice an entire extra wing.
