7 Classic Blair Waldorf Outfits from Gossip Girl Wardrobe That We Still Love
Dressing for work can often feel like the world’s greatest struggle. The idea of forcing ourselves out of our cozy pajamas and into a work appropriate outfit can make a grown woman shed a tear or two. When faced with mornings like these, you can either settle for soft pants, comfy knits, and flats (totally OK) or you can choose step it up (hey, you’ve got some serious fashion prowess—use it!). Need some style inspiration? Look no further than our fave TV bad-girl-gone-good, Gossip Girl’s Blair Waldorf . With her every posh outfit, Miss Waldorf shows us all up (she was dressing for* high-school for the majority of the show after all!) and offers a bevy of ideas for office outfits. So take a page out of the B handbook this week for the days you’re feeling a little more inspired to turn up your style at the office. And while Blair’s outfits may seem (and actually be) over-the-top expensive, chances are you have more a few Blair-approved essentials hiding in in plain sight (think: classic tailored trousers, flirty A-line skirts and bright silk self-tie blouses). So, go ahead and give these seven outfit combinations a whirl this week. You’re bound to be spotted*. XOXO
1. A Tailored Pantsuit
This simple donegal pantsuit has just enough detail on the trims to create a strong look when paired with a vibrant top (Hi, Chuck!)
2. A Shimmery Top and an A-Line Skirt
Blair was all about mixing patterns and textures to add flair to her outfits, and we love how she makes this evening top work for day with a classic skirt.
3. A Skirt Suit
It doesn’t get much chicer than this forest green tweed skirt and jacket combo. We’re obsessed with every detail and especially love the pop of color from Blair’s red notebook. She certainly makes a case for dressing up at the office.
4. A Bright Coat
This red coat is everything and more, and we love how easy it is to throw a bright coat over to spice up any outfit.
5. A Leopard-Print Dress
Only Blair could make a *leopard print dress * work-friendly. But in a micro print, this leopard look is actually neutral, with just a hint of edge. This mini-dress, however, might be a little short for the workplace, so we’d recommend throwing on a pair of tights underneath just to be safe! And forgive the flip-flops, Leighton was photographed between takes.
6. A Dramatic Cape
Blair is the queen of pops of color, and we love this forest green cape paired with mustard self-tie blouse. Though in real life, we could probably pass on the hat.
7. A Belted Floral Dress
Belting your printed dress is a great way to add some curves. Plus, the wintry accessories, make this floral look just right for colder weather.
