Fashion Accessory Idea to Steal From Grandma: Cute Rain Bonnets!

Things I love about umbrellas: They keep the rain off my head.

Things I don’t love about umbrellas: They take up so much space on the sidewalk, I always lose them after I put them down somewhere to dry, and I never seem to have one when I need one. Also: They’re hard to maneuver into evening clutches! AND Whenever someone borrows your umbrella, chances are, you’re never going to see it again.

That’s why, this fall, I’m super-into this idea that I’m totally co-opting from my grandma. Say hello to the fashion-forward rain bonnet! It folds up super small, so you can carry it anywhere you go, it’s a cute face-framing head-accessory that protects your hairstyle from the rain, and it’s not one of those things people want to borrow all the time.

I am in love with Bubble Betty’s entire range of rain bonnets—they’re priced at around $10 each and come in black lace, red lace, tattoo-print, and leopard (above):

And I’m also obsessed with this adorable rain bonnet from Maison Michel, though, to be fair, it’s a little outside my price range for rain bonnets—ringing in at $375.
