Found! Flattering Wedding Gowns For Busty Figures
Searching for that perfect wedding dress but can’t get past…your D-cups? Solutions, after the jump!
The classic sweetheart strapless
When I polled the busty ladies around the office about necklines, the #1 flattering style that came up: sweetheart. Most wedding gowns have* tons *of support and boning inside the bodice and, if not, a good tailor can even add in loops to thread your strapless bra through, so there’s no need to worry about spilling out. The nip in the center of the sweetheart is actually minimizing, too, as opposed to a more straight across look. I love the simplicity of this Angel Sanchez gown.
The supportive empire waist
This Michelle Roth gown is doing everything right for larger breasts: It’s got enough fabric to hold up your girls, but it’s still pretty and feminine (love the sheer up-top look). Plus, the empire waist is a universal slimmer-down for chestier women. I think this is a nice look for a bride who wants to be pretty and ethereal, as opposed to sleek and modern.
The structured one-shoulder
If you’ve got boobs and want to wear a one-shoulder down the aisle, you can! Just stay away from the overly flowy toga-style goddess gowns and pick a body-con, super-structured dress like this glam Alvina Valenta. Another asset of this particular gown is the ruching up top—definitely a plus when you’ve got a lot going on there.
Ladies: What do you think of these styles? Does anyone have anything else to contribute about dealing with a busty figure and wedding dresses?
