Gigi Hadid Has an Identical Twin—and She’s a Plus-Size Dutch Model
Gigi Hadid may already have a little sister, but the Internet just discovered she has a twin too: plus-size model and blogger Iza Ijzerman.
Ijzerman, who’s based in the Netherlands, looks identical to Hadid, Refinery29 reports. She was first spotted in an Instagram photo for plus-size swimwear line Alpine Butterfly, prompting many a double take to figure out if it was the real Gigi Hadid or a completely different person—which it was.
Scrolling through the Dutch beauty’s Instagram feed, it’s almost impossible to tell her apart from her U.S. counterpart, save for the lack of photos of Kendall, Zayn, and Bella. The two models have the same long dirty-blond hair, plump pout, blue eyes, high cheekbones, button nose, et al. They both also happen to be 22 years old and Dutch (Hadid’s mom, Yolanda Foster, was born in the Dutch town Papendrecht, Refinery29 reports), which makes the possibility of the whole “long-lost twins” theory even more realistic.
“The first time someone mentioned it was on Instagram,” the Dutch model told Refinery29. “When I signed with MiLK, they posted a picture with the caption ‘The new curvy Gigi Hadid,’ so that’s the moment I realized it might be true!”
As is usually the case when someone tells you, “you look so much like so-and-so celebrity!” Ijzerman doesn’t see the resemblance. In fact, “I think I look more like Bella,” she tells Refinery29.
This isn’t the first time the world has discovered a Gigi Hadid look-alike. Earlier this year, the Internet tracked down Danish model Amalie Schou, who also looks identical to the oldest Hadid sister. Did someone say triplets?
