Hermione Through The Years: A Look Back At Emma Watson’s Harry Potter Premiere Style
It’s a sad day for Harry Potter fans: The last film in the epic series had its premiere this week, and Emma Watson shed a few tears at the final photo opp. She also blew us away with her sophisticated style…check out what she wore, and take a look back at all of Hermione’s red carpet moments through the years!
In 2001, a then-unknown Watson posed on her first official red carpet for the premiere of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. Her outfit of choice? A shiny green top with a matching shawl, golden pants, and a choker (which, incidentally, is having a moment again!). Give the gal a break, she was only 11!
The following year, she was back as Hermione in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, this time doing the boho thing in a long dress with a leather jacket on top. We’d call this one age-appropriate and pretty cute!
At the 2004 premiere of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, she upped the style ante a bit with a ruched strapless dress and studded flats.
By the time Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire hit screens in 2005, Emma was experimenting with fashion in a more envelope-pushing way. Her floral dress got a little kick thanks to a tiger lily-style headband and glittering flats.
She was fully ascendant as a style star when Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix premiered in 2007–she wore Chanel couture to the Paris premiere, and she made the transition from child actress to beautiful young woman.
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince brought looks from Ossie Clark and this sexy number by Proenza Schouler.
Emma’s cropped new ‘do made its red carpet debut in 2010 at the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 premiere. Her hemline was as short as her hair, and this va-va-voom lace number by Rafael Lopez cast the star in a totally grown-up new light.
Her London look a few nights ago was jaw-droppingly gorgeous: Oscar de la Renta tulle and sequins, worn with perfect confidence.
And for her final moment promoting the series, Emma arrived at Lincoln Center in this super-sophisticated strapless gown by Bottega Veneta. She’s come a long way since 2001, huh!?
What do you gals think of Emma Watson’s style evolution? Which look is your favorite? Discuss!
