Rihanna knows how to make an entrance, and live, and breathe in the most perfect way. The recipient of the Video Vanguard Award at the 2016 MTV VMAs opened the show with a medley of her greatest hits, and while she danced around we couldn’t help but admire her pale pink ensemble. But we have one major question regarding the label that was emblazoned on her top: What is Hood by Air?
Well, we’re here to let you know it’s one of the most influential, innovative street wear brands in fashion. Established by New York-bred designer Shayne Oliver in 2010, Hood by Air (often abbreviated as HBA) reached prominence when NYC cool kids started wearing his signature long-line T-shirts bearing the HBA label. Soon, the mainstream fashion industry took notice and, almost overnight, Oliver went from relative unknown to the toast of the town.
