Jennifer Lopez Wore THAT Green Versace Dress Again
Don’t you wish really good celeb outfits could have an encore? For her show in the Bronx yesterday, Jennifer Lopez breathed some fresh air into the iconic green Versace dress she wore at the Grammys in 2000 with a reimagined version, from Versace’s little-sister-type brand, Versus.
The new version had the same palm frond print and billowy fit, though it wasn’t quite as daringly low-cut as the original (a necessity, I’m sure, since double-sided tape will only go so far when you’re delivering a high-octane performance and not just, like, posing alongside P. Diddy at an awards show). It had a tear-away skirt of sorts too that was removed to reveal a simple pair of briefs.
To refresh your mind, here’s a shot of the original. Somehow, it manages to feel just as shocking to me now, 14 years later. Whoa! How’s that for making you realize how much time flies?
Do you like that J.Lo chose the classic piece from her personal style story to wear at a show in her hometown, or are you kind of over it?
