JSYK: Gigi Hadid Was the Cutest Child Model for Guess and Now She’s Back

The recent snaps from Gigi Hadid’s spring ’15 campaign for Guess are her raciest yet (you see the outline of a breast!), but they’re nothing new—she told Vanity Fair she was discovered by designer Paul Marciano at age two. “I started with Baby Guess, I did Guess Kids, and then I stopped because I was a really competitive horseback rider and a club volleyball player. I kind of stopped modeling.” Here’s a tween snap that photographer Kymberly Marciano shared, and, OMG, it reminds me so much of Kendall Jenner’s earliest modeling moments.

Digging in to my Real Housewives of Beverly Hills history, I think we were introduced to Gigi (and mom Yolanda) during one of Gigi’s first grown-up shoots for Guess. I’m remembering Yolanda being friends with the Marcianos too, and Kymberly said she’s known Gigi for her entire life in this blog post so my memory fails me not. There’s also a treasure trove of older Gigi for Guess pics there, including an adorable turtleneck moment you have to see.

This is one of her newest images, showing off floral-painted jeans Paul said he designed just for Gigi.

I love Gigi (and Yolanda), so this story makes me happy. I’m also impressed that even after her career’s taken off, she hasn’t forgotten family friends or the brand that gave her her first big job.
