Kim Kardashian Is a Literal Golden Goddess at the Met Gala
Kim Kardashian has come a long, long, long way on her Met Gala journey: once reportedly banned from the event, the 37-year-old is now one of the night’s biggest forces, showing up in bold designer looks from Givenchy, Lanvin, Balmain, and more. But her 2018 Met Gala look, designed by the evening’s co-chair Donatella Versace, turned heads in a whole new way.
Though Kardashian teased a photo of herself in her 8th grade Catholic school uniform on her Instagram Monday, her actual look was much less Catholic school girl and much more stylish sinner. The mother of three showed up sans Kanye West (for the second year in a row) in a glittering gold chain-mail Versace creation, which featured a few well-placed crosses to keep her look on track with the “Heavenly Bodies” theme. And the skin-tight gown certainly showed off Kardashian’s own heavenly body, leaving little to the imagination and putting her curves on full display.
The second-skin gold gown made Kardashian look like a walking reincarnation of her recently debuted KKW Body perfume bottle, which features a mini-mold of Kardashian’s own form from her shoulders to her thighs. And while Kardashian only said her look was inspired by the “Heavenly Bodies” theme, the Kardashian-Jenner family is certainly no stranger to self-promotion of their fragrance lines or otherwise.
