Kylie Jenner’s Former BFF Pia Mia Just Landed a New Fashion Gig
Birds of a feather do flock together, especially when you’re talking about a shared affinity for body-con fits, thigh-high boots, and micro-mini hemlines. Kylie Jenner and Pia Mia spent a lot of last year attracting the paparazzi in outfits that looked like they could have been pulled from either girl’s closet and that fashion fame has resulted in a new gig for Pia: She’s just been announced as the face and fashion director of Madonna’s Material Girl line. The campaign has previously featured Zendaya and Sofia Richie.
“Her creativity, confidence, and unique sense of style make her a perfect addition to the brand,” Madonna said in a statement, with other execs from the brand telling WWD that the singer’s social media presence was also a big pull (she currently has 4 million Instagram followers). Along with starring in the brand’s campaigns, she’ll provide creative feedback during the design process and film an “all-access” documentary with StyleHaul inspired by Madonna’s 1991 behind-the-tour film, Truth or Dare.
Now, can we take just a second to address the elephant in the room? If you do a quick Web search with Pia and Kylie’s names, you’ll see plenty of results stemming from the fall of 2015 then…not much else (the one exception being a tabloid story about her releasing a very Kim Kardashian-like set of emoji). Both girls seem to be mostly absent from each other’s social feeds too, and photographers haven’t captured the pair together this year. No drama was documented in the gossip world, so it’s anyone’s guess whether the two are still buddies.
Whether or not they’re spending lots of time together, they’re still dressing a lot alike. Take a peek at some of the new Material Girl’s Insta snaps—they’re nearly identical to something you’d see on the reality star’s account, amiright?

Friends dressing alike is a real thing with psychological roots, and the shared sensibilities are especially exciting in this case since it means future Material Girl collections will likely have a vibe—courtesy of Pia—that feels Kylie Jenner-cool.
