Like Mother, Like Daughter: Zoe Kravitz and Lisa Bonet Are Basically Style Twins
When it comes to style, some mothers and daughters dress so differently you wonder how they could be related. Then there are the pairings who actually look as if they share a closet. Lisa Bonet and Zoe Kravitz (her daughter with rocker Lenny) are most definitely of the latter variety—even nabbing a new mother-daughter campaign for Calvin Klein. It’s no surprise that the twosome have similar taste in clothes, but we’re still intrigued by how often the two pick similar looks, with mama Lisa typically rocking it first.

To support Zoe in Mad Max: Fury Road last spring (one of the most stylish movies of 2015, natch), Lisa picked a delicately beaded white dress that could have been plucked from a vintage shop. It looks like the style inspired her daughter, with Zoe picking an equally fragile-looking Calvin Klein Collection gown for a red carpet in the fall.
The floaty dress and leather jacket Lisa wore to the premiere of Divergent in March 2014 was neatly replicated by Zoe a full year later, with both women using the classic topper to toughen up a gauzy dress. Pay attention to their accessory game too. While Lisa’s in sandals and her daughter picked chunky boots, both are comfortable, practical shoes that don’t dress up the look like sky-high platforms would.
The style similarities continue when the pair are off duty too. Both wore easy LBDs for around-town strolling, finished with comfortable flat shoes, shoulder bags, and round sunnies (no hat for Zoe, a shame since then they’d really be twinning). Should you be wondering, Lisa’s outfit came first, with Zoe stepping out about two months after.
And, Zoe’s never been shy about how much she appreciates Lisa. “I’ve been raised by the most badass woman in the world,” she’s said, revealing that Lisa inspired her tough Mad Max character. The actress has also been up-front about loving her mom’s style, admitting she’s even bought clothes that Lisa had donated to a thrift store.
“There’s this little vintage store where she lives, [and] my mom will often donate her stuff. She took a bunch of stuff down while I was away, and I went there when I got back and bought five of her things,” Zoe told ASOS. “I got home and was like, ‘I can’t believe I just paid for your clothes!’ Out of everything in the store, I’d bought my mother’s things.”
