Men In Fur: A Do Or A Don’t?

Remember that Seinfeld episode where Elaine is so mortified by her boyfriend, David Puddy’s fur coat that she throws it out the window at a party when she’s tasked with putting it away? I wonder if Kanye West’s girlfriend, Amber Rose, had the itch to do the same at yesterday’s Louis Vuitton show in Paris…

We know you girls are kind of divided on the subject of fur (and that’s why we’re glad the faux stuff is so in style right now!), but do you have any change of heart when the person wearing it is a dude? As in, if you’re okay with wearing fur (vintage or otherwise), would you be okay with your guy wearing it? Kanye and his girlfriend have been known to get all flashy in the front row in the past, but I think the his-and-hers animal pelts they wore to the Louis Vuitton menswear show in Paris yesterday take things to a whole new level.

Fur is expensive and Mr. West loves to flaunt his wealth, so I’m not terribly surprised to see him in this long, cozy coat, but I must admit I find it positively ridiculous. There are incredibly rare occasions where I’d deem it acceptable for a man to wear a fur coat (in the Arctic Circle; while dressing in drag as Rachel Zoe for Halloween), but I’m sorry to say that a Paris fashion show isn’t one of them. What do you dolls think? Is there a double standard for guys when it comes to wearing fur? Do you think they can look just as cool in a full-length mink as you can? Or is that just going a little too far? Men in fur: A Do or a Don’t?
