People Are Really Upset That Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid Got Victoria’s Secret Angel Wings

It is a unique honor to be bestowed the title of Victoria’s Secret Angel, often referred to as the point at which one of the VS models gets her wings. Typically, the only models on the annual runway show that walk with the jaw-dropping creations strapped to their back are the official Angels. The closest anyone else will get is a cape or robe that doesn’t hold a candle to the wings of an Angel.

At Wednesday afternoon’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show taping in Paris, however, both Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid walked the runway wearing wings that wowed. But no, the bestie duo have not yet been given the title of full-blown Angel. And for that, they’re facing quite the social media storm of backlash. One viewer even went as far as to point out that both of Kendall’s looks had wings, while Martha Hunt (who is a contracted Angel for the brand) didn’t walk with a single pair.

While critics will always be there to point out the flaws, we think Kendall and Gigi looked stellar, wings or not. And—who knows—maybe they’re closer to getting that official Angel title than we know.
