See Jennifer Lawrence’s Dreamy White Dior Gown From the ‘Passengers’ Premiere

Jennifer Lawrence probably won’t be wearing a white dress in that way anytime soon, but that didn’t stop her from walking the Passengers premiere red carpet in an all-white, bridal-inspired look. She and co-star Chris Pratt posed for the cameras in Los Angeles Wednesday night, with Pratt looking studly and smiley as ever in a dark blue suit. Pratt’s wife, fellow mega-star Anna Faris, also hit the carpet.

J.Law posed next to Pratt in the floor-length tulle-skirted Dior number, which had a corset bodice that featured a curious little red embroidered heart. Her choice to wear Dior was no surprise, considering she’s been a longtime face of the fashion house. But what was more unexpected was her dark red lip, complementing the heart, and that her entire makeup, hair, and accessories skewed pretty nineties in their aesthetic; see Lawrence’s choker, bold black eyeliner, and twisty up-do.

We didn’t get any classically candid Jennifer Lawrence falls or foibles out of this Passengers carpet, but perhaps she’s taking a break from her patented candor. Jennifer recently issued an apology after what she thought was a funny retelling of a silly story (she used sacred rocks in Hawaii to scratch her butt while on set for The Hunger Games) landed her in hot water for being culturally insensitive. But J.Law did not take a break from another patented J.Law thing the actress does well: absolutely WORK a good gown.

According to Entertainment Tonight, J.Law completed her look with “Christian Louboutin and Beladora and Repossi jewels.” Perhaps the most interesting part of the Dior dress was the back, which was done up with three white buckle straps.

Wedding in the front, party in the back? Yeah, that’s how that saying goes.

Passengers, an action-packed space film, hits theaters on December 21—which means we still have plenty of premieres and beautiful dresses to come from Lawrence.
