The geek-chic way to pull off a pencil skirt

If you don’t wear a uniform at work, getting dressed for the office can be a daily test of patience. But never fear! Every evening at 10 P.M., we’re bringing you simple and chic work-appropriate outfit ideas to answer the perpetual question “what should I wear for the office?” Here, the first of three outfit ideas from the July issue of Glamour.

Her job: Samantha Carrie Johnson, 29, is a food and lifestyle educator who runs her own consulting and catering company, Terra 2 Table.

Her outfit: “I love brights, like this skirt. As the face of a brand, I’m not wearing all-black! I was Miss Pennsylvania USA in 2007, and my geek-chic style is a reverse reaction.”

Her wardrobe M.O.: “I want people to get that I’m not a cookie-cutter chef in a white jacket. Dressing like myself makes me more relatable, so clients realize that they can actually do what I’m teaching them.”
