It’s the most delicious, easy, classic salad: tomatoes, basil and mozzarella. And now you can feel better than ever about enjoying it. Japanese researchers say that tomatoes may contain important compounds that can help protect you from vascular disease, a form of cardiovascular disease that affects the blood vessels.
It’s not clear whether processed tomato products like tomato sauce or marinara sauce provide the same benefits, so make sure you’re getting plenty of fresh tomatoes in your diet.
