Model Karolina Kurkova Doesn’t Have a Belly Button–Why?

Innie or outie? We all have belly buttons. It’s the way we were fed in utero by our mothers, of course. So how in the world does Czech supermodel Karolina Kurkova not have one? It’s true! Karonlina Kurkova does not have a belly button. Not even a little one. And the recent discovery has some wondering if it’s a result of a medical or cosmetic procedure? While she has not spoken out publicly about her button-free belly, her rep is quick to tell us all that “she’s not an alien” (just in case you that extra terrestrials might look like gorgeous 6 foot models).

The BBC reports that there could be medical reasons for Karonlina’s missing belly button: “Some have no belly button as a result of the surgery needed to correct abdominal problems at birth, often either an umbilical hernia, or a condition known as gastroschisis–born with the stomach and intestines poking through a hole in the abdominal wall.”
