Jessie James Decker’s Beach House Is Decorating #Goals
Everyone needs an escape—and for country singer and beauty blogger Jessie James Decker, that’s a beach house along the Gulf Coast. She recently partnered with Joss & Main to decorate the beachfront home where she vacations with her husband—New York Jets wide receiver Eric Decker—and their two young children. And she’s here to share a few vacation-home decorating secrets with you.
“Because we’re on the water and this is our vacation home, I wanted each room to feel fun and festive,” Decker says. “Everything feels very in-theme with the seaside when we visit here.”
With two small children, Decker knew that the home would always feel lived in, and even a little messy—and she likes it that way. “My advice is not to try and make your home so immaculate and perfect all the time,” she says. “It’s OK to get a little messy—a messy home is a happy home.”
When it came to lighting, Decker says she was all about chandeliers, like this bohemian beaded one in daughter Vivianne Rose’s bedroom. “They were a big must for us here—they bring a big hit of sophistication to the beach and really finish off each room,” she says.
To keep the room from feeling too cutesy as Vivianne, who’s now two, gets older, Decker picked understated colors and furniture that would grow with her. “We stuck to a classic neutral palette,” she says, “and then added in accessories like the mermaid wall art to give the room a playful feel for her right now.”
